A good mattress today can set you back a few hundred to a few thousand dollars. They come in different sizes, firmness and quality. Pillowtop, Euro Pillowtop and foam encasement are all part of modern mattress terminology. They are also the determining factor in the various price levels. If youve ever been mattress shopping you are probably asking, "Why do mattress sets cost so much?" The answer is, because they usually carry one of the highest price markups in the entire furniture industry. Mainstream innerspring mattress sets from major labels can carry gross profit margins of 30 to 50 percent each.
