Church services in Atlanta were brief today for perhaps an alcoholic reason
By Twomucht,Topix National News Editor,
Today was a Sunday like any other Sunday for the pastor at a Stone Mountain Baptist Church. Pastor Bob showed up early for morning service, in order to get prepared for a powerful sermon.
As the church members started to flock in, he noticed that the crowd was thinner than usual, but that did not bother him.
As the service started , he noticed that the announcements were short and hurried., and that did not alarm him.
Even when the choir sang so heavenly, he again noticed that they were singing the hymns a little faster.
Again, he overlooked it , yet his curiosity increased even higher, when he normally shake the hands of the church members in a slow fashion, as they walk out of the church... Today they were simply dapping his fist, and running to their parked cars.
It was at this time that he put his hands on his hips, and wondered to himself, 'What is really going on' ?
His question was answered when his wife pulled up and blew the horn on their Cadillac, and she yelled, " Bob get in the car, we can buy liquor on Sundays now !"
"Amen", shouted the preacher, as he jumped in the car, without locking the church doors.
Today was the first day in many metro Atlanta communities, where they can purchase alcohol seven days a week.
