It was amazing to see the gathering of this multicultural village. Numerous smiles and small talk conversations were shared by many during the day long full crowd of the local residents. Their chattering were only drowned out at times by some of the best "Real Home Down Gospel and Georgia Blue Grass music groups.

To be sure, Stone Mountain Village was the envy of every other city in the whole state of Georgia.

Although Stone Mountain Park is known as the largest tourist attraction in Georgia, with over 15 million visitors walking throughout its grounds annually, the sad thing is that most of those visitors are not aware of this quaint historic town, named Stone Mountain Village,

As a matter of fact, its this little town where the city of Stone Mountain, Ga., was first founded in 1836 , and named initially New Gibraltar .
