A Brand New Snellville School Defies Local Students' Boundaries

News about the Georgia K-12 Educational System is often bleak. In just two years, Living Waters Global Learning Center (LWGLC) has proven when the boundaries surrounding education are lifted, children excel and become gifted and talented students.

According to Beverly Jenkins, the Director of Curriculum and Assessments, “LWGLC combines innovation and education, this concept carries kids beyond the expected norm.” Jenkins adds “The schools individual learning approach allows a child to pursue their studies and match their skills.”

Jenkins explains, “If a child is in the second grade and is performing at a 5th grade reading level and a 2nd grade math level then the child receives the 5th grade reading curriculum and the 2nd grade math curriculum. This concept allows the child to reach a hundred percent potential.”

Barbara Williams, Director of Human Resources and Adult Learning shared LWGLC has expanded its school to include adult education and family services in order “to meet the challenging needs of our families”. Williams firmly states, “we realized that educating children, meant meeting the needs of families.”

The “Family Center” has been designed to meet the needs of LWGLC parents and the community. Parents are able to come to the “Family Center” and receive direction and/or immediate assistance.

LWGLC is open Monday through Friday 6:30am – 5:30pm to educate children. The facility is open to the community on Saturdays. Spanish classes are available for free to all parents. Saturday and evening workshops will also be held to retrain displaced workers in various fields.

Additionally, they have recently partnered with Unity Health Care from Charlotte, NC to offer adults courses in the health care field.
