Community emergency volunteer courses available to residents
The Gwinnett County Office of Emergency Management is offering Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training to Gwinnett County residents beginning January 28. Participants will learn basic disaster response skills such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations.
The training consists of eight sessions that will take place on Tuesdays from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. The session will conclude with a course review and disaster simulation on Saturday, March 15 from 8:00am to noon.
The course is open to all Gwinnett County residents 18 years and older who pass a background check provided by the Gwinnett County Police Department.
