AND VOTE ADVANCE OR ABSENTEE

 

(Lawrenceville, Ga., Sept. 25, 2012) – The 2012 General Election will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 6 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at all precincts in Gwinnett County. Before residents can cast a ballot, they must be registered to vote. The deadline to register to vote in the November election is Tuesday, Oct. 9.

 

Voters in Gwinnett County have a variety of options for casting a ballot this year. Registered voters may request an absentee ballot by completing an application available on the Elections website at  www.gwinnettelections.com  or calling 678.226.7210. Completed applications can be mailed to the Elections Office, faxed to 678.226 .7209  or emailed to  absentee@gwinnettcounty.com .

 

Once the ballot has been received, state law requires that absentee ballots be returned by mail via the United States Postal Service or express services such as FedEX or UPS or delivered in-person to the Elections Office. Voters are only permitted to deliver their own ballots, unless they are an attendant care provider or immediate family member of a disabled elector.

 

Voters may also cast their ballots in person from Oct. 15 to Nov. 2, Monday through Friday,  8 a.m. – 5 p.m.  at the Gwinnett County Elections Office, located at 455 Grayson Highway in Lawrenceville. In addition, satellite  v oting locations will be open Oct. 29 to Nov. 2, 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. at the Centerville Community Center in Snellville, George Pierce Park Community Recreation Center in Suwanee, Dacula Park Activity Building in Dacula and Lucky Shoals Park Community Recreation Center in Norcross.

 

Saturday voting will be available at the elections office and satellite voting locations on Oct. 27, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
