CANVAS CAFÉ PAINTING FOR THE CURE

 Pinckneyville Park Community Recreation Center is proud to present Canvas Café Painting for the Cure in partnership with the American Cancer Society of Gwinnett to raise awareness of cancer through an inspirational art session with a skilled resident artist.

This event is on November 28, 2011 from 8:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. in order to not only increase cancer awareness, but to embody the creative spirit through hands on still life painting.  Hors d'oeuvres and beverages will be served as guests paint their own 14"x18" masterpiece to take home.   

People living with cancer struggle each day with pain and the fear of a short lived life.  Art is therapeutic and inspirational to believe that hope remains, that color brings life, and that expressive thought and imagination is brought to existence by the swipe of a brush.  

The event is designed and structured for an adult crowd, to include social engagement, education about cancer, and to freely express artistic still life interpretation.  Cost for this event is $15 per person and pre-registration is required by November 19, 2012 by calling 770-417-2200.  

Pinckneyville Park Community Recreation Center is located at 4650 Peachtree Industrial Blvd. in Norcross.  There are classes in many different categories such as dance, cultural arts, wellness, martial arts, fitness, and so much more.  

This location also includes a dance/aerobics room, pottery studio, large community room with catering kitchen, indoor and outdoor classrooms, and beautiful walking trails that connect to Pinckneyville Park and Soccer Complex.
