Senior setter Tori Verville (Edgewood, Ky./Holy Cross) recorded 38 assists to lead the Thomas More College volleyball team to a 3-0 sweep of Hanover College tonight (Tuesday, September 4, 2012) in a non-conference match at Notre Dame Academy in Park Hills, Kentucky.

With a win, the Saints improve to 2-3 overall and with the loss, the Panthers fall to 2-3.

Thomas More won the match by the scores of 25-19, 25-18 and 25-18.  Verville paced the offense with the 38 assists, while sophomore outside hitter Karsen Cronin (Fairfield, Ohio/Fairfield) led the team with 21 kills.  Sophomore defensive specialist Kelsey Castiglioni (Harrison Township, Mich./L'Anse Creuse) led the team with two service aces. 

Defensively, the Saints had two players with double-digit digs as sophomore defensive specialist Christina Brackett-Newport (Louisville, Ky./Seneca) had a team-high 11 and Castiglioni added 10.  Junior middle hitter Tyler Deaton (Lexington, Ky./Lexington Catholic) led the team in blocks with two.

The Saints return action tomorrow (September 5) when they host Chatham University in their Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) opener at 6 p.m. at the Connor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.
