The Kentucky Symphony Orchestra opens its 18th season of Summer Concerts in Devou Park on Saturday, July 7 at 7:30 P.M. with a “Friendship Concert’ in conjunction with the 2012 World Choir Games to take place in Cincinnati. The concert will feature choirs from Norway and the Ukraine.
The concert is scheduled to include some classic selections by Verdi and Handel, popular songs, the National Anthems of the three countries participating, and an audience sing-along to “We Are The World”.
This promises to be a great kick-off to the series, which continues on August 4 with “Viva Vaudeville” and “Do the Time-Warp” with 70’s and 80’s pop music on September 1.
All events take place at 7:30 PM at the Devou Band Shell in Covington. Parking is limited, but you can take a TANK shuttle from Covington Catholic from 6 to 7:30 PM for $1 each way.
Bring your own blankets or lawn chairs.
