Nampa's recent growth explosion has only solidified the fact that Idaho's hidden gem has been discovered. I recently took a walk down the beautiful trail that leads through Middlecreek, past Midland, and through Augusta subdivision. I ran into a woman with her golden retriever.
I mentioned to her that the day was extremely mild, which was odd for March. she responded that it was one of the nicest days she'd seen in the seven years she'd lived here. She talked of Nampa like she'd been here her whole life. It is amazing to me how this town can embrace an out of towner so well that you can't tell who's a local and who's a transplant.
Nampa has changed so much over the last decade and while the good comes with the bad, I'd like to say that I'm greatful for a few things, namely:
1. Not having to drive to Boise to buy anything at Home Depot, or the mall;
2. A better selection of places to eat;
3. Better internet access;
4. Transplants who appreciate the small town values, and beauty of our state.
It's bigger than it used to be. It's not crowded though. Nampa has become a sophisticated mid sized city that I am very proud to reside in.
