Slingblade Lithonia Murdered By Wife
The DeKalb County Magistrate Court issued a felony murder warrant for Ballin’s arrest on Thursday. Police say the 48-year-old struck her husband in the head with a blunt object. He later died from his head injuries at Grady Hospital. Police have not released information about a motive for the murder.
Pamela Ballin had originally told police that her husband was attacked Dec. 29 around 2:30 p.m. at their home located at 5683 Tunbridge Wells Road in Lithonia. She said he went downstairs and she heard a commotion as she hid in an upstairs bathroom.
After investigating, however, police did not believe her story. She was arrested Jan. 24 for making false statements to police. Police did not say what those false statements were. Ballin posted a $5,000 bond and was released from the DeKalb County Jail on Jan. 27.
This week, police upgraded the charges to murder and obtained a felony warrant for her arrest. The DeKalb County Sheriff’s fugitive squad arrested Ballin at the business that she and her husband owned, At Your Service Lawn Care & Landscaping in Lithonia. She was taken into custody without incident, police said.
She is in the DeKalb County Jail awaiting first appearance in court.
