OurTown Student-Athlete of the Month: Taylor Glaze 7/9/2010 1:57:16 AM

LAFAYETTE – Central Catholic pitcher Taylor Glaze, who was the winning pitcher in the last two Class A state championship games, is OurTown.com’s Student-Athlete of the Month of July.

Glaze was outstanding in the state championship game last month, as the Knights beat Tecumseh 4-2 for its third state title in four years. Despite a two-hour rain delay, Glaze threw a complete game and one of the two runs he gave up was unearned. He also had a hit and an RBI in the contest.

Glaze finished the season with a record of 10-2 with a 1.02 earned run average, striking out 83 batters while giving up 25 walks. Glaze was also impressive at the plate, batting .395 for the season, going 34 for 86.

Glaze, who finished his Central Catholic career with a 26-5 pitching record, was also a member of the Knights soccer team for the past four years.
