LAFAYETTE -- Express Women’s Network, founded by Kelly Coston, will host an event to help raise money for troops overseas at the Best Western of Lafayette from 4:30-9:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 18.
U.S. troops make incredible sacrifices. They leave their families and put their lives on the line.
Items like Skype or phone cards keep them in contact with their families and touches of home can help when sending care packages. The fundraiser will bring more awareness and donations to give troops care packages that will make them feel a closer to home.
There will be 25-plus supporting vendors, fun games, free makeovers including pictures, gowns, and accessories. There will be a chance to win $150 CASH just for bringing in something we can send over Seas to the Troops such as a card or hand written letter, beef jerky, slim jims ,hot chocolate packets and tea packets. In foil granola bars, hard candy must be wrapped individually wrapped and in large bag.
Other items accepted with be DVDs, stationery, crossword puzzles, Vienna sausage, Personal hygiene items men and women's, phone cards and things to remind them of home. The more items or bigger the items the more chances donors will have for the cash drawing.
There will be raffles and door prizes, including a Coach purse and gift basket from Texas Road House.
Express Women’s Network group also host events, seminars and fundraisers hoping to help areas in the community that is very often overlooked.
