WEST LAFAYETTE -- Riverfest is Saturday, July 14 at Tappawingo Park.
Every year volunteers gather on the banks of the Wabash to play games, race canoes, shop for art and learn about the river.
Last year the Go Greener paddlers won the race amid lots of cheering and splashing. Go Greener needs help to do it again this year. Contact Diane Damico if you want to volunteer (dianedamico@mac.com).
Go Greener is also looking for volunteers to take a shift at the Go Greener booth or help with the 5K run. It needs helpers from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Each booth features some educational aspect and an activity for the kids. Its educational piece will highlight Falon French's phosphorous free landscaping and the kids will create flower origami from recycled paper.
Riverfest is a free, family friendly event that brings people to the shores of the Wabash River at Tapawingo Park to enjoy one of the area's greatest natural resources. Event hours are 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
