LAFAYETTE -- Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette will host the annual Volunteer Recognition and Celebration on Sunday July 8 from 5-7 p.m.
Every year hundreds of volunteers fill more than 1,000 volunteer opportunities at Civic Theatre. Their participation allows Civic Theatre to produce close to 100 performances every year. Civic Theatre is primarily a volunteer driven organization. Outside of the professional staff of three, every position is filled by volunteers.
The annual event is Civic Theatre’s way of thanking these critical volunteers for their valuable time and talents.
“Volunteers are the life blood of Civic Theatre,” said Steven Koehler, manager director of the theatre. “Without the time and talent that the hundreds of volunteers give every year, Civic Theatre would not be able to continue to produce the quality programming that we are known for.”
“This gives us the opportunity to thank the many wonderful people who make up the Civic Theatre family. We also highlight a select group from among the hundreds of people who volunteer. These particular volunteers have made a large impact, either over the past year, or over a lifetime.”
Although walk-ins are welcome, people who wish to attend the orientation are encouraged to email Koehler at steve@lafayettecivic.org or phone 765-423-7529 to reserve a spot.
The mission of Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette is to enhance the artistic and cultural environment of Greater Lafayette through theatrical productions and educational opportunities.
