LAFAYETTE - All area residents are invited to participate in a planning process to address the issue of homelessness in Greater Lafayette.
Solutions Beyond Shelter is a collaborative effort aimed at ending chronic homelessness in Tippecanoe County by 2022. All comments and discussion generated during the process will help refine the Solutions Beyond Shelter plan and create permanent solutions to end homelessness as we know it today.
Attendees will join in discussions with national, state and local experts on core issues of homelessness during the “Community Planning Charrette”. The public is encouraged to attend as many sessions as possible, and is welcome to join any session at any time even if unavailable to participate in the entire process.
“We are pleased that our community is coming together to talk about what we can to do address and prevent homelessness,” said James Taylor, CEO of United Way of Greater Lafayette. “With the help of experts from across the country, we believe that we can truly find solutions that go beyond sheltering this population. We encourage anybody who has an interest in this important work to come and help us develop our community plan.”
