LAFAYETTE – This year’s Clay Bowl Giving Project, scheduled for Thursday, April 19, marks the event’s 11th anniversary.
The event is held at YWCA, 605 N. 6th Street, Lafayette. Local potters make hundreds of clay bowls and donate them for this annual event, which raises funds for the YWCA Domestic Violence Intervention and Prevention Program (DVIPP).
Those who buy a lunch or dinner can take home a clay bowl that will serve as an everyday reminder of the many victims and survivors of domestic violence in our community.
Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dinner will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. this year. Carry-out is available for both lunch and dinner. The meal features spaghetti from Puccini’s Smiling Teeth, salad from The Trails, bread from Great Harvest Bread Company and a cookie from Subway. Those four companies donate the food for this event.
Other sponsors include Lafayette Savings Bank, Caterpillar, Purdue Federal Credit Union, Unity Healthcare, Westminster Village, Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health, Faith Hope & Love Cancer Center, MBAH Insurance and Greater Lafayette Clay Guild. In Kind sponsors include Dream Weaver Team-Coldwell Banker Shook, Chick-fil-A, Oral Surgery Office LLC and KFC-Teal Road.
The cost per meal is $20 through April 18 and $25 on April 19. Register by calling 765-742-0075 or register online at www.ywca.org/lafayette.
