Tippecanoe Red Cross to honor volunteers, 'Heroes'

From Lafayette/ West Lafayette, Indiana

LAFAYETTE – The Tippecanoe County Chapter of the American Red Cross invites the community to join us as we honor and celebrate our dedicated volunteers and Heroes.

We will be awarding Shining Star Awards to deserving volunteers and highlighting our HEROES Campaign. In addition, the Tippecanoe County Chapter will be giving five National American Red Cross Lifesaving Awards to lifeguards that saved a diver from an emergency at the Boilermakers Aquatic Center.

The celebration will be held on Monday, April 30th from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the Tippecanoe County Chapter of the American Red Cross, which is located in the Howarth Center at 615 N. 18th Street in Lafayette, IN.

About the American Red Cross: The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and counsels victims of disasters; provides nearly half of the nation's blood supply; teaches lifesaving skills; and supports military members and their families. The Red Cross is a charitable organization – not a government agency – and depends on volunteers and the generosity of the American public to perform its humanitarian mission. An average of 91 cents of every dollar the Red Cross spends is invested in humanitarian services and programs. For more information, please visit www.lafayetteredcross.org
