LAFAYETTE – Come, celebrate the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 16, at the Tippecanoe County Public Library, 627 South St.
Perry Brown, Lafayette’s Third District Councilman, is the keynote speaker. Clyde Hughes, co-facilitator of the Diversity Roundtable provides closing remarks. Songs and music of the movement will be shared at this program for all ages.
“TCPL is proud to host the only public community celebration of the Martin Luther King Jr. national holiday on the holiday itself,” said County Librarian Jos N. Holman. “We are also pleased to have as part of this year’s celebration the first black person elected to the Lafayette City Council.”
No tickets or reservations are required. Seating may be limited and is based on the time of arrival.
