LAFAYETTE -- Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints invite the public to a community open house at its newly built South Lafayette Meetinghouse, Saturday, June 18, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The new meetinghouse is at 3430 East County Road 450 South in Lafayette, next to Woodland Elementary School.
It can be reached by taking Concord Road to County Road 450 South and turning east, or by taking U.S. 52 to County Road 450 South and turning west.
The new meetinghouse is the hub of religious and social life for Greater Lafayette’s third ward and fourth branch of the church. The new meetinghouse includes a chapel, classrooms, offices, baptismal font, warming kitchen, cultural hall and genealogical research space.
Sunday services begin at 9:30 a.m. with an hour-long sacrament meeting, followed by meetings for men, women, teenagers and children, as well as scripture study for adults and youth. Visitors are welcome at all meetings.
