WEST LAFAYETTE – Harrison senior Taylor Caldwell, who finished third in the high jump at the Indiana State Track and Field Meet at the Indiana University on Friday, June 3, is Lafayette/West Lafayette OurTown.com’s Student-Athlete of the Month.

Caldwell’s third place was the best finish of any area athlete at the state meet. Caldwell leap of 6 feet, 6 inches, was his best jump during sectional, regional and state. Caldwell finished second in the regional meet May 26 at Lafayette Jeff with a jump of 6-5. He was second to eventual state champ Jonathon Christensen, of Southmont, who jumped 6-7. Christensen jumped 6-10 at the state meet.

In the sectional competition, also held at Lafayette Jeff, Caldwell defended his high jump title with with leap of 6-4 and placed third in the long jump at 20 feet, 5.5 inches. He has participated in the Indiana state track and field meet for three consecutive years.
