Local stars dance at Big Brothers Big Sisters benefit

From Lafayette/ West Lafayette, Indiana

LAFAYETTE – The public is invited to attend the third annual “Dancing with the Stars of Greater Lafayette,” an event to raise funds and awareness for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Wabash Valley.

This unique event promises to be a unique gala auction with a twist. Local celebrities are currently receiving dance lessons at Arthur Murray Dance Studios to prepare for the big show.

After enjoying a fabulous dinner at the University Plaza Hotel, the attendees will be dazzled by our “Greater Lafayette Stars” taking the dance floor in support of at-risk children. At the conclusion of the show, everyone can dance or simply enjoy the music of The First Impression Band from Indianapolis.

The winning couple of a Wedding Dance Contest has been added to this year’s star line up. Recorded entries of the Bride and Groom’s first dance were reviewed to select a winner. The couple will recreate this dance in our Dancing with the Stars Show.

This year’s “Star” line up includes:
Philanthropist – Linda Rohrman
Senator – Ron Alting
Orthopedic Surgeon & Mt. Climber – Greg Konrath
WLFI Anchor – Sue Scott
Artistic Media’s – Ernie Caldemone
Purdue Standout & CC Coach – Dave Barrett
Wedding Dance Contest Winners – Elisha & Josh Surber

“BBBS of Wabash Valley is planning an exquisite evening with great food, entertainment, music and a silent auction. This is wonderful way to support at-risk children and enjoy time with friends and colleagues,” said BBBS executive director Ronda McKinnis.
