LAFAYETTE – The Almost Home Humane Society (formerly known as the Tippecanoe County Humane Society) is excited to announce its third annual Awareness Campaign on behalf of the homeless animals cared for annually at AHHS.
This year’s event will also be a celebration of the humane society’s 70th anniversary. Please mark your calendars for September 12-19 as we take this time to speak for the homeless and unwanted animals that are unable to speak for themselves. It is time to make their voices heard throughout our community and they need your help to get their message out.
There are a variety of ways you can be a part of this very important initiative:
1) Attend our Awareness Week Special Events: We have several events being planned for this week, including a 5k run/walk, jewelry party, wine dinner, karaoke night, and benefit motorcycle ride and more. As more details are made available information will be posted online at www.almosthomehumane.org. Be sure to check back often as new events will be added as they are confirmed.
2) Hold a fundraiser with your friends to benefit AHHS: Would you, your club or group be interested in holding a special event during September 12-19 and donating the proceeds to AHHS? Bingo events, spaghetti dinners, bake sales, passing the hat before a meeting, passing a collection jar at a tailgate party, etc. all make great benefit events. Get creative! Keep your eyes open around town for what others will be doing to benefit the animals at AHHS. Your help is greatly needed and appreciated.
3) Put your name on our logo: Select area businesses, as well as AHHS and the AHHS Adoption Center (inside Tippecanoe Mall), will have AHHS logos available for sale for $1. You can combine your name with AHHS’s in support of the animals. Logos sold at AHHS and the AHHS Adoption Center will be displayed throughout the locations. If your business is interested in offering AHHS logos for $1, please contact AHHS at 765-474-5222 and ask for Michelle.
