Reception for Vining solo exhibit July 17 at Lala Gallery

From Lafayette/ West Lafayette, Indiana

LAFAYETTE -- "Worlds Apart," Justin Vining’s solo exhibit at Lala Gallery & Studio, will be on display from July 10–August 15.

Come see the urban and rural landscapes with glimpses of Chicago, Good Ol’ Country Farms, and appropriated compositions from Vincent Van Gogh and Thomas Hart Benton. An artist reception will be held July 17 from 6 p.m.–10 p.m. All artist receptions are free and open to the public.

Vining is a graduate of Purdue University in art education. He went on to teach for three years and currently he is pursuing his Law degree at Valparaiso University.

“I did not know if I would love law or not, but I do and I go to school, go to work and then paint every night,” Vining said. “This is the most painting I have done ever and I love it.”

The exhibition will showcase the many mediums Justin enjoys working in.

“Worlds Apart” is a play on the completely different materials Justin uses and how they all tie together with his subject matter. He will bring for the first time ever, kept secret from his closest friends, watercolor and acrylic works, collage pieces, works on wood and ink drawings. If you love the city life, but long for the Indiana country side this is a show worth checking out.

Lala Gallery & Studio has a monthly event every third Friday of the month from 6–10 p.m. to celebrate new contemporary art and the artists who create it.
