Come hear about the many found throughout the collection of the Taft Museum of Art in this illustrated talk by Taft docent Sue Monteith, at the main branch of the Cincinnati public library. It's almost a zoo, and just in time for Ground Hog Day!   Come hear about the many animals found throughout the collection of the Taft Museum of Art in the illustrated talk “Tails of the Taft: Animals in an Art Museum” by Taft docent Sue Monteith. Join us at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, in the Popular Library Lounge at the Main Library.

FINDING SLAVE ANCESTORS USING ANTE-BELLUM PLANTATION RECORDS 
2:00 PM, GENEALOGY & LOCAL HISTORY PROGRAM SPACE
Perhaps the most difficult task faced by African American genealogists is locating slave ancestors. There are many sources; one indispensable tool is Records of Ante-Bellum Southern Plantations. This resource provides family information on slaves as well as the conditions of their lives. Join genealogist Joyce Coleman from the National Underground Railroad Center as she guides the audience through this invaluable resource and how to maximize its use. The Public Library is one of the few libraries in the nation with a complete collection of the plantation records on microfilm.

Between now and May 4, you can start recording all of the physical activity you do, so that you can qualify to be a kid marathoner in the last mile of the Flying Pig Kids' Marathon ! Join Robin Pendery, a community dietitian with The Nutrition Council of Cincinnati and the Coordinator of Youth Fitness and Nutrition for the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon as she gets us ready to "fly" with fun activities and information about your body and the Flying Pig Marathon!
