About Ourtown Own A Town Sign In

From CinciPulse - The Pulse of the City

This Sunday is the first Cincinnati Triathalon.

Join athletes from Ohio, Kentucky and 30 other states on what has been called one of the most spectacular  courses  in all of triathlon.

Start with a downhill swim in the Ohio River.  Downhill?  The Cincinnati Triathlon swim is point to point,  starting  upstream and going with the current for 1350 meters.  The entire swim is within 50 meters of the Ohio shoreline.  Want a shorter swim?  The sprint swim is also downhill, a mere 400 meters and is within 10 meters of the Serpentine Wall (your family and friends can walk along the wall with you as you swim - how much fun is that?).

After the swim is one of triathlon's most unusual bike courses.  How is that?  NO CARS!  Our course is completely closed to traffic, including all six lanes of Columbia Parkway.  The bike course has spectacular views of the Ohio River, the Kentucky shoreline and the downtown shoreline.

Finally the run.  Breath a sigh of relief as most of the Cincinnati Triathlon's run is on shaded paths along the banks of the Ohio River in Friendship Park.  Even more fun is a run across the Purple People Bridge, Cincinnati's world famous pedestrian bridge spanning the Ohio River.
