This week has been a scorcher. If you can get to a swimming pool, that is the only place to be. That does mean, of course, that you have to go through the misery of buying a new swimsuit.
If you are a perfectly toned 24 year old, buying a new bikini is easy. There are thousands of them in all shapes and sizes. For those of us who may be more comfortable in a one piece, it is a little more challenging.
I have been perusing the stores and the Internet for some one-piece suits that hide figure flaws, yet don’t look like granny suits. This is what I found.
This first suit is a DKNY exclusively at Macy’s. It doesn’t look like much on the hangar, but I tried this one on and it really does make you look longer and leaner. On-line it is 20% off the $96 retail, but go to the store and try it on, it is cheaper there. http://bit.ly/KZmWXl
I hear the trend this year is the 40’s look, with a lower leg, bows and ruffles. Unfortunately, you can only find this in more high end bathing suits. But if you want to splurge a little, I loved these two.
They are both Marc by Marc Jacobs. The first, selling for $182 at Bloomingdales is a Finch Charm Peplum Maillot. Named so, because that design you see in the suit is actually little birds. http://bit.ly/Lb7JAR
The second an underwire Maillot called Where's My Tou Can? Is also at Bloomingdales for $164.
I also discovered a website called www.swimwearforall.com that features swimsuits in moderate price ranges in expanded sizes. I thought these two were really cute. The Longitude Pink Twister, only $39.50 http://bit.ly/KD33J3 and this Teal Cocoa weave bandeau is $66. http://bit.ly/MOQA0j
Go out and find that perfect suit and dive in.
Happy shopping!
