This sounds like a lot of fun and a great way to participate in a downtown Cincinnati project.

OTR FLAGS is an art installation of over 126 hand-painted silk flags that will adorn the renovated Washington Park in Over-the-Rhine. Residents, friends and visitors of OTR can paint their very own personal silk flag in one of two final community workshops.  Each flag will be exhibited in the park during July and August for a total of eight weeks.  After the exhibit, individuals can retrieve their personalized creation or donate to the Emanuel Community Center to be auctioned and help generate funds for like minded programming.

Thanks to a generous donation, the cost to paint a flag is now free. Upcoming workshops will be “al fresco”  Come paint your personal flag outside at Emanuel Community Center, May 19 or at Second Sunday on Main, June 10. Participants will be provided the necessary silk, paints  and supervision. The “al fresco” workshops are 10:30 -3:30 p.m. with total paint time for participants ranging from 20-40 minutes.  Reserve your space at www.otrflags.com.

General Information:

Over 50 flags have already been painted as part of OTR Flags. 26 large banner flags are sponsored by local organizations and painted by commissioned artists. They will hang on the light poles of the sidewalks that surround and cascade through Washington Park.  The individual flags will be displayed near the bandstand in the center of the park. The OTR Flags team is hoping for 100 flags!
