SPRING FLORALS

From CinciPulse - The Pulse of the City

With the advent of spring weather, our thoughts naturally turn to flowers and we are tempted by all those beautiful floral pattern being shown in everything from clothing to shoes to handbags.  Florals can add an interesting element to your wardrobe, but you need to make sure you get the right ones and remember “a little dab will do you”.

If you have a trim frame, you can easily do a print dress and I have found a few that I think you will like.  The first is from a UK website www.wallisfashion.com.  It is a bold print on a black background, retailing for $63.  Remember you have a lot going on here, so plain black sandals or flats will work best. http://bit.ly/IYBk48

The second is a Liz Claiborne floral print for only $35 at JC Penny.  It’s pretty, summery and appropriate for both day and evening.  http://jcp.is/J5BN2F

If you have a bigger budget, how about this watercolor floral from Talbots for $159.00.  Pair it with nude sandals or pumps. http://bit.ly/IyutJ6

Remember that a bold print will draw the eye to the print so if you want to de-emphasize the hips and draw attention to your upper body, you might want to try a print top.  This one from Wallis Fashion is a pretty print.  I especially like the pleating at the neckline.  It retails for $58.  http://bit.ly/IyutJ6.

If you are slim through the hips and want to direct attention to that portion of your body, you might try this cute blue and red print skirt from Talbots.  It is $89.50 and would look great with a crisp white shirt and red shoes.  http://bit.ly/IGDXao

You might also like these graphic floral crop pants at $79.50 from Talbots.  Again, only if you want to draw attention to the lower portion of your body.  You have to be careful with a large floral.  You don’t want to look like you just won the Kentucky Derby.  http://bit.ly/IGDXao.  Pair it with a white or neutral flat or sandal and a white tee.

If these looks aren’t for you, but you love florals, how about this Nine West Tote from Zappos.  http://bit.ly/J20AlF .  It goes with lots of solid colors.  Please do not pair it with another floral.

Or I can go to my “cop out” floral look…shoes.  There are some really cute floral shoes that will dress up a solid or even a striped dress or skirt.  The first is Poetic License Arm Candy at $129.95 from Nordstroms http://bit.ly/J1Z2YT.  These wedges look comfy and easy to walk in.

I found these Jessica Simpson floral pumps at Endless.com http://bit.ly/IGJeia.  They come in a variety of solid colors as well for $79.99.

And, if you just can’t resist a sale, how about these AK Anne Klein Rosalba slings at Endless.com for $55.97. The heel is a nice height and they make a plain shift dress feel like something special.  http://bit.ly/HWUPsA

Whatever floral look you choose, have fun with it.

Happy shopping!

Gabby
