  1. NOW IT'S RICK'S TURNWed, 12 Aug 2009 14:26:11 EST
Rick Pitino, basketball coach at the University of Louisville had consensual sex with Karen Cunagin Sypher at a Louisville restaurant. Thats what he told police. Seems he was at a Louisville restaurant in 2003 and was drinking, and He also told police that he later gave Sypher $3,000 to have an abortion, this, too, according to Louisville Metro Police reports, which were obtained by the Courier-Journal. Sounds like a made-for-TV series to me.

  2. A Little Bit of This A Little Bit of ThatMon, 03 Aug 2009 16:50:36 EST
David Ortiz was the most valuable player for the Boston Red Sox in the 2004 American League Championship series. Many Ramirez was the M.V.P. of the World Series. Last week both names were connected to having tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs in 2003. Now the question must be asked whos next? Derek Jeter? Albert Pujols? Alex Rodriguez was among players tested positive in a February SI.com report. He subsequently admitted to using a performance-enhancing drug from 2001 to 2003. And there were the admitted users, like Jose Canseco and Ken Caminiti. Most recently, Bronson Arroyo, the Reds pitcher who went public last week in the Boston Herald. At this point in time, either fans could care less about players doping or theyre numb to it. Whats really created from this mess not who did it but whos next?

  3. Pete Rose Isn't TalkingMon, 03 Aug 2009 16:48:42 EST
Pete Rose isnt talking. And thats a good thing. Let him save the speech for his Hall of Fame induction which seems just around the corner. It seems baseball commissioner Bud Selig is seriously considering lifting Roses lifetime suspension from baseball. And Rose who is in Cincinnati through Wednesday is totally mum on the subject.

  4. Owner or Fan?Mon, 03 Aug 2009 16:48:23 EST
One is a fan who never should have been an owner. The other is an owner but probably should be a fan. Thats the story of pro sports in our town.
